Itinerary

Day 1: Fly Kathmandu/Dhangadhi.

Day 2: After breakfast, drive from Silgadi to Baghlekh.

Day 3: After breakfast, trek about 3 hours to Bukipani.

Day 4: Full day exploration of Khaptad National Park.

Day 5: After breakfast, continue trek about 5 hours to Bichpani.

Day 6: After breakfast, continue to trek about 2 hrs to Baghlekh and drive to Dadeldhura via Silgadhi.

Day 7: After breakfast, drive to Suklaphanta about 5 hours and exploration by jeep drive at suklaphanta Wildlife Reserve.

Day 8: After breakfast, bird watching at Laljhadi (popular for bird watching in Nepal) and plantation trip to Community Forest.

Itinerary Detail

Day 1: Fly Kathmandu/Dhangadhi. Arrival al Dhangadhi airport and drive 5 hours to reach Silgadi, Overnight at guest house.

Day 2: After breakfast, drive from Silgadi to Baghlekh about one hour then trek about 2 hours to Jhigrana (2300m), lunch at Jhigrana and continue trek to Bichpani (3020m) about 4 hours, The route will be along with dense jungle rich in medicinal plants and there may be possibility to see some wild animals.

Overnight at lodge.

Day 3: After breakfast, trek about 3 hours to Bukipani, lunch at Bukipani (packed lunch will be served) and trek about 2 hours to Khaptad (3010m) and overnight at guest house or tented camp.

Day 4: Full day exploration of Khaptad National Park (view tower, Khaptad Baba Ashram, Khaptad Daha (lake), Nagdhunga etc.), Packed lunch will be served on this day.

Overnight stay at guest house or tented camp.

Day 5: After breakfast, continue trek about 5 hours to Bichpani. Lunch at Bichpani continue trek for 4 hours to Jhigrana and overnight stay at Jhigrana.

Day 6: After breakfast, continue to trek about 2 hrs to Baghlekh and drive to Dadeldhura via Silgadhi. On the way, visit Bageswor temple, Salmuni temple and Ugratara temple. Overnight at Dadeldhura in guest house.

Day 7: After breakfast, drive to Suklaphanta about 5 hours and exploration by jeep drive at suklaphanta Wildlife Reserve whick serves as an inhabitant of spotted deer (seen in large numbers), hog deer, nilgai, wild dog, jackal, porcupine and otter including endangered animal swamp deer. Other animals in the reserve are wild elephants, tigers, hispid hare, blue bull, leopard, chital, hog deer, one horned rhino, jackal, Langur and Rhesus monkey, barking deer, and wild boar. Over 300 bird species have been recorded including herons, ducks, storks, kingfishers. Many grassland birds along with the endangered Bengal Florican can be seen in the pheasant. Reptiles include gharial and mugger crocodiles, Indian python, cobras, kraits, rat snakes and monitor lizards.

Drive to Dhangadhi about an hour and overnight at Hotel Devotee or Dinesh Cottage

Day 8: After breakfast, bird watching at Laljhadi (popular for bird watching in Nepal) and plantation trip to Community Forest. Finally, fly Dhangadhi/Kathmandu.
