Swayambhunath is the just a few minutes’ drives will take to the nearest hillock of Swayambhunath in the Kathmandu valley, also known as monkey temple.  To see the panoramic view of the Kathmandu this is the ideal place to do so. Swayambhunath is one of the holiest Buddhist Stupas in Nepal.
 
Kathmandu Durbar Sq is the city of the kings were once crowned and legitimized, and from where they ruled. As such, the square remains the traditional heart of the old town and Kathmandu’s most spectacular legacy of traditional architecture. And you can also have a glimpse of Kumari,’Living Goddess”.

Bhaktapur is another ancient cultural city. Bhaktapur boasts the best-preserved courtyards and old city Centres in Nepal. The city is famous for its rich culture, temples and wooden, metal and stone artwork. It is one of the most preferred destinations for travellers from across the world.

After an early breakfast transfer to Pokhara airport for a morning flight to Jomsom- the district headquarter of Mustang. 20 minute flight to Jomsom is the most scenic flight passing through the world’s deepest gorge and offering best Mountain View of Annapurna(8,091m) and Dhaulagiri(8,167m). Jomsom situated in the North of Pokhara reveals Nepal’s spectacular diversity. On arrival to Jomsom meet the trekking staffs (porters) and get ready for the trek.

Jomsom is the starting point of the trek. The trail starts on a gradual path following the Kali Gandaki River.  After 03 hour walk reach Eklo Bhatti (2,740m). The trail passes along beautiful scenery ranging from rhododendron forest to the rocky cliffs and dessert. Enjoy the majestic views of Dhaulagiri a, Nilgiri and Tukuche offered along thetrial. The trail continues along an easy walk of an hour stopping at Kagbeni- a village lying at the bank of two rivers. The village is heavily influenced by the Tibetan culture and is filled with beautiful chortens, prayer wheels and Buddhist monastery depicting the rich culture the place offers. The village is also the check point for entrance to the Upper Mustang trekking.

After breakfast Permit check and start the trek uphill towards the east bank of Kaligandaki River. Climb ridges along the way heading north towards Tangbe village. The village constitutes of narrow alleys, white washed houses, wheat , barley field with black , white and red chortens. The Gurung village provides a good view over the Kali Gandaki gorge. 02 hour walk north from Tangbe(3,060m) reach Chhusang (2,980m) seated at the junction of the Narshing River and the Kali Gandaki. Surrounded by gigantic red, orange and silver gray cliffs with a number of caves dwelling in these it sure is fascinating. Cross the river and walk on the small ridge towards Chele village. The village offers an amazing view of the Himalyan Range.

The trek becomes a bit challenging with a steep climb to Taklam La Pass(3,624m) through plateaus and narrow stretches. It is vantage point to take in the excellent views of Tilicho peak(7,134m), Yajawa Kang, Damodar Danda and Nilgiri(6,940m). Descned along the trial passing by barley fields towards the picturesque image of Samar village. 02 hour from Samar(3,660m) along the trial pass by Rangchyung chorten a red painted cave monastery one of the sacred places of Mustang. An hour of trail passing by forest reach Syangboche. In the time remaining can explore the surrounding area and have a community evening walk with the locals helping in better understanding of the local culture.

Start the trek uphill to Yamda La Pass (3,860m). Witness the typical local architecture painted in bright red and white setting it apart from the natural background. Climb up to Nyi La pass (4,010m). On the trail be rewarded with the good view of Mustang and Annapurna Nilgiri Range. Descned gradually towards Ghemi La Pass.  Passing by deserted village, rugged landscape the trail descend gentle but drops steeply to Ghemi  village a settlement constituting of distinguished white washed houses.

Cross Ghami River and climb to a plateau passing by the longest Mani wall in Mustang. The trail passes by barren hills and uncanny rock formation with remotest sign of human life around. The trail transverses to Tsarang La Pass (3,870m). After 11 km of ascend reach Tsarang- welcoming the visitors with the Great Chorten Gate.

The trail descends to Tsarang Chu and climbs steeply up on a rocky trail after crossing a river. Enjoy the view of Nilgiri(6,940m), Tilicho, Annapurna I(8,091m) and Bhrikuti Peak(6,372m). Trail ascend gently to Lo Pass (3,950m). Crossing a strem and climbing up a plateau reach Lo Manthang the city of wall.

Full acclimatization at Lo Manthang. Formerly known as the Kingdom of Lo the village was built around 1450 by son of the legendary Ame Pal. A wall 300 meters long and 150 meters wide has served as proctection against bandits, warriors and the ferocious winds. Explore the village which is noted for its tall white washed mud brick walls, gompa. The Royal Palaac – a nine cornered five storey structures. Get acquainted with the local culture which is heavily influenced by the Tibetan.

02 hour walk takes to Namgyal Gompa . Seated on a hilltop it is an important monastery also serving as a local court. Continue the tour up to Thinggar and back to Lo Manthang.  Be fascinated by the rich culture, history, amazing landscapes, pristine views of the Himalayas and the stupendous architecture offered by the village.

The trail back takes a different route via Lo Gekar. After 03 hour trek pass the Chogo La ( 4,230m) pass. One hour descend leads to Lo Gekar. Visit Ghar Gompa the oldest monastery in Mustang. Dating back to the 8th century  the monastery was built by the founder of Tibetan Buddhism- Guru Rinpoche. A huge statue of the future Buddha – Maitreya lies in the main chape. The visit takes you to a spiritual journey soothes the mind. Climb to the next pass Mui La (4,170m). Descend a narrow valley towards Dhakrmar. Can experience the spectacular view of the landscapes with rock formation and colors ranging from grey to red is indeed a beautiful sight.  Reach Dhakmar a village surrounded by cliffs with caves.

Trek downhill to an altitude of 3,570m. Pass by panoramic views of the Himalayas all around. On the way back pass by Ghemi. Passing by the familiar sights brings out the beautiful nostalgic feelings. The trail walks by remote and rugged area ultimately stopping at Ghiling.

The trail back follows the same route. Trek back to Chhusang via Syangboche, Samar and Chele ultimately reach Chhusang. Enjoy the picturesque view of the Himalayas and be smitten by this magical place.

The last day of the trek is filled with nostalgic feelings and the beauty of the place. Come down to Jomsom via Tangbe and Kagbeni. This finishes the upper mustang trail and joins the normal Annapurna Circuit Trek. Walk back to Jomsom offers beautiful scenery.

Early morning flight to Pokhara.  The 20 min flight is a beautiful one. Upon arrival at Pokhara transfer to the Hotel.

After lunch explore this beautiful city. Visit Davis fall known for its beauty and tranquility with its legend adding a touch of mystery and adventure to this sight. Visit Tibetan Refugees Camp renowned for production and trade of woolen carpets and handicrafts.

Free time at Lake – side tourist hub filled with shops for antique and souvenir, clubs and restaurants.

After breakfast transfer to Airport  for  09:15-0945  flight to Kathmandu. Enjoy the enormous beautiful glimpses of the Himalayas and the diverse landscapes during the flight. Arrive Kathmandu. Visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square.  Bhaktapur- the city of Devotees is a religious, cultural and historical heritage. Listed under UNESCO World Heritage Site the place offers beautiful views of the medieval art and architecture. Visit the Palace of 55 Windows, Golden Gate, Nyatapola Temple which is the highest pagoda of Nepal ever built. Enjoy the charming architectural and artistic beauty, beautiful woodcarvings and colossal pagoda temple.

Lunch.

After lunch visit 2000 year old Syambhunath Temple also known as Monkey Temple.  This ancient religious architecture sits atop a hill in Kathmandu. One of the most important Buddhist shrine, the stupa dazzles one with beauty along with it offers a marvelous view of Kathmandu Valley.  Explore the colorful Kathmandu Durbar Square the oldest royal palace of Nepal. Listed under UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is home to palaces, temples and courtyards. Temple of living Goddess Kumari one of the main attractions offers spectacular architectural work and artistic beauty. Visit Thamel market-free time.

Trip to the mystical land comes to an end for now. After Breakfast Drive to Tribhuvan International Airport for Departure.

After breakfast go for sightseeing in Kathmandu major area Pashupatinath temple one of the most sacred Hindu Shrine in the World. The holy river Bagmati and the Burning Ghats (Cremation) and also visit one of the oldest and biggest stupas of Boudhanath. Then have lunch and
